Box structure for the windshield is finished |
The green tape allows me to easily pull the inner windshiled on and off during test fitting |
Start the skylight |
Close up |
The LED circuit kit I bought to hopefully light up the rotating engine section |
All assembled |
I apply power and it doesn't work. I curse and cuss and try different things but I am not an electronic guy so this is frustrating |
Finally realize that I had to apply power to 2 terminals. I get it up and running but this is a random flashing light system. I can not get it to run in a chase mode. I can not use it for the rotating engine so I will save it for my next R2D2 |
More carving out of skylight |
So I am going around through modeling forums and looking at aftermarket kits. There are some very talented people out there and very interesting subjects. However when I started looking at the prices of some aftermarket kits they seemed quite high to me. Now I know all these items are limited run and all hand made. I do not criticize these people for asking what they do. I guess I am shocked because in the back of my mind I think to my self that I can scratch build stuff if I wanted to. Now I don’t know how the prices are determined or the profit margin they put in there. I am a bit concerned that when all the prices come in for Serenity that the price I will have to charge is going to be a lot more then I wanted. I have no idea what a kit from my model would cost. The more I think about it the more I think I would never recover the cost outlay for the moulds and castings. At what point will people start thinking to themselves that they love the movie but they don’t love it enough to buy an expensive model. Also if this were a business for me then the time to introduce the kit would have been just as the movie was released for maximum sales. I tend to over think these things. |
